1971 Half Dollar DDR-001???

Another question for all of you! First of all- I have completely given up on trying to take decent pics of all these coins and have decided to go back to my microscope- so I hope this helps! I have matched up my photos beside those on Variety Vista. This variety is not on Wexler’s page. Any info you can offer is greatly appreciated! So- what’s your verdict? DDR? Yes? No? Yes??! And- my photos are all the blue colored ones! Thanks again!

I am not seeing a match either. The crossbars do not match on those letters having them, the thickness is not there on yours. In fact most of the thickness in the lettering does not match. Close does not count. JMHO

 

I see a normal KHD . Pareidolia ?

Do you think it would be worth actually re-doing the photos of my coin from my microscope? My lazy butt just took pictures of the microscope screen with my phone! (Too lazy to get my memory card, lol!) OBVIOUSLY I’m no pro, lmao, but I could actually shoot the same size image as well. I just took several pics with my phone, then zoomed in and out to line them up! With my luck- it’s still no DDR, but maybe I didn’t take the picture like I should have??? What do you think?

 

Truthfully- I do too! With mine and the Variety Vista pics! I get so confused bc sometimes it’s so obvious, but there are sooooooooo many varieties that are so hard for me to figure out! And I don’t even use my microscope for viewing them bc it’s horrible for me to really see what’s there! But it just takes a better image than I can!

I think you did just fine with your pics and the examples. This was done much better than many here have done. I have no photo skills at the time myself and only have a scanner and a couple of programs to resize and crop. But to be honest, you did well enough for me to humbly say, not to try on this one again as it just does not appear to be a match for what you are currently comparing to. I see no extra thickness in the lettering and no notching either. If you try too hard on any coin eventually you will see what you want to see and not what actually is there. Then it becomes a love/hate relationship with the coin.

Wow! You are absolutely right! I spend WAAAAYYYY TOO MUCH TIME looking for things that are not there! Omg- sounds like my marriage! Can you be my therapist?!! TOTALLY JOKING!! Lol!! But great advice! On the coin! Thanks!!
