Here is link to a summary of foreign coins struck by the US mint. At the bottom there is a clickable link to a table that is an extensive list of all foreign coins struck, their dimensions, weights and compositions. Do any of these match your coin? https://minterrornews.com/news-5-13-03-foreigners_in_the_mint.html The unusual appearance of your coin does not look like it could have occurred from striking a smaller, lighter planchet with a Lincoln cent die. You may also want to look up pics of certified off planchet errors and you'll see pretty clearly that yours couldn't have come from the mint like this regardless of the planchet. Go find the data and prove us wrong, but I think you'll find the search very educational.
How much would it cost to get graded? I Google'd that exact article, before I posted this thread. Im going to look for a vending machine or parking meter to feed it to, or maybe toss it on ebay...
You are claiming to have an extraordinary error and these types of errors require significant proof. A number of experienced collectors have said that it doesn't look like an off planchet error. You were also supplied with a link where you could find information that would be very helpful in supporting your claim. However it seems that you don't want to put the effort into researching your claim and would rather make sarcastic replies. I think that says a lot Good luck moving forward. All of the info you need for submitting it to a TPG is available on the web
With the new pictures if this doesn't strike you as a heavily, after minting, manipulated coin, there's nothing I could say to change your mind on it. I'm going to leave it at that. It's been clearly manipulated by someone with a lot of free time.
The closest planchet I could find, was from Liberia, rolling in at 2.59g and 17.91mm diameter, and 95cu 5 zinc. Within reason, that should be close enough. However, based on what I’ve been able to gather, the philly mint hadn’t minted them in 10 years...? If that’s accurate, how far fetched would that make it? Also, I’d appreciate any further thoughts or ideas on how and why you believe this to be genuinely erroneous, forged, or worn, and if it’s worth being graded. Thank you
I see questionable markings all over this coin, as evidence towards both genuine, and otherwise. I’m looking for additional resources and references, before I’m ready to send it off.
That's not a word we use when talking about true mint errors. It's a word we tell people when they are totally wrong.. You are erroneous.
We are the resource and we have given our expertise reference. It's not a cent in foreign planchet. Try @Fred Weinberg
Not going to hit reply on the last thread since it will soon be deleted by the moderators, but the last laugh is on @Frogclaw It's well known that @paddyman98 is not only a long time error specialist that enjoys helping new collectors, he is also very proud of his Puerto Rican heritage. And you thought it would be fun to insult the Irish
I’m genuinely sorry. I’d like to withdraw my former posts. I acted immature, and that’s acceptable to me, and it doesn’t belong here.
