Hi. This is my first post and I’m hoping you can help me out. I’ve gotten a lot of great info from this site, but haven’t seen anything relating to my particular coin scenario. While coin roll hunting I came across this 1971 penny that stuck out amongst the others, literally. It’s slightly bigger than a ‘normal’ penny and stuck out of the stack a bit when I was separating copper from clads and barely fits into a penny flip. Weight is 3.0g. The obverse rim looks very deep all the way around and there’s a ton of room around the details. The reverse rim drops off around the 4 o’clock position, where there seems to be a lot of extra space to the right of the monument and “T”. The edge shows a ridge that goes from the “E” in “CENT” all the way, clockwise, to the second “A” in “AMERICA”. So what is it? Broadstrike? Foreign Planchet? Tilted die? Thanks for your help.
