rockdude you may be forgetting to take into account that the coin we are discussing has had many years of wear and abuse from circulation. The doubling on these is very minor to start with and the normal use from circulation tends to obscure some of the doubling. the doubling on the die #3 coin you added the photo of is doubled weaker than the coin in this thread in my opinion. just forget about everything else except the U in trust and look directly at the center of the U and see if you can see the dividing line. If this old coin had not been worn out so much it probably would have been awesome.

I don't think the OPs coin is worn that much that you couldn't still see the notches at the top of the U if this were really the #3. The lines you see in the OPs U just don't match up.
