<p>
I am researching the RDVs for Washington Quarters...I'd like to try and assemble as complete of a die variety set as possible (without errors). I am finding different resources that say different things. It seems that the uncommon RDV-008 is consistent among the sources. But, the other variety varies based on source. Both Variety Vista and this really awesome resource I found from the Heartland Coin Club (<a href="http://heartlandcoinclub.com/links.html" target="_blank" class="externalLink ProxyLink" data-proxy-href="http://heartlandcoinclub.com/links.html" rel="nofollow">http://heartlandcoinclub.com/links.html</a>) indicate there were 2 reverse dies for 1971-D. But, Heartland's resource states the other (more common) variety is RDV-006 while Variety Vista says its RDV-007. Of course, neither show obverse photos to confirm it either way.</p><p><br /></p><p>Does anyone here know...or does anyone here know someone who might know?</p><p><br /></p><p>To me...RDV-006 makes more sense. RDV-007 was used from 1969-70 according to both sources (Variety Vista lists it also used on both the 1971-(P)/D issues). Both sources also state that RDV-006 was used from 1967-72 (Variety Vista shows it skipping both 1971-(P)/D coins).</p><p><br /></p><p>Just based on chronological order...RDV-006 would make more sense to me. It makes more sense that RDV-007 was short lived and then stopped after 1970...than it does that they suddenly stopped RDV-006 for one random year in the middle of its "run" and then brought it back. But, I don't know.</p><p><br /></p><p>Anybody actually know?
</p><p><br /></p>
I am researching the RDVs for Washington Quarters...I'd like to try and assemble as complete of a die variety set as possible (without errors). I'm initially trying to create a checklist and simply learn about the set. It seems fairly straight-forward except for 1971-D. I am finding different resources that say different things. It seems that the uncommon RDV-008 is consistent among the sources. But, the other variety varies based on source. Both Variety Vista and this really awesome resource I found from the Heartland Coin Club (http://heartlandcoinclub.com/links.html) indicate there were 2 reverse dies for 1971-D. But, Heartland's resource states the other (more common) variety is RDV-006 while Variety Vista says its RDV-007. Of course, neither show obverse photos to confirm it either way. Does anyone here know...or does anyone here know someone who might know? To me...RDV-006 makes more sense. RDV-007 was used from 1969-70 according to both sources (Variety Vista lists it also used on both the 1971-(P)/D issues). Both sources also state that RDV-006 was used from 1967-72 (Variety Vista shows it skipping both 1971-(P)/D coins). Just based on chronological order...RDV-006 would make more sense to me. It makes more sense that RDV-007 was short lived and then stopped after 1970...than it does that they suddenly stopped RDV-006 for one random year in the middle of its "run" and then brought it back. But, I don't know. Anybody actually know?
