My Dad's step brother ended up liquidating the collection and used the money to open Restaurants that failed. It is an abysmal story to say the least and one in the distant past however my grandfather gave my dad a few things and over the recent past my dad has started to give them to me as he knows my love for coin collecting. My love of coin collecting can be linked directly to the day that my dad gave my brother and I a silver dime and told us to go next door and give it to grandpa. I saw the room and was amazed and didn't know some 20 plus years later that I would have the same love for collecting as he had. It passed my dad by as he was more proud of raising his two sons than collecting coins but he has held on to what his father has given to him and is passing it on to me. Long winded but I wanted to include a story to go with this very beautiful envelope that my grandfather put away 48 years ago. He never knew it would come to me, I'm sure, but it did and I'll do my best to keep it until I have someone to pass it on to as well.
