Hello all, Last night, I was going through the 1969 and 1970 pennies and had read about how a small date penny was worth more than the large date one, and believe that I have found an easy method that may help some people who are having a hard time. Unfortunately, I only have a picture of a large date penny, but it will be good enough to show my method. But first, if I may ask. Is the small date penny only the 1970 S penny, and not the 1970 D penny? Anyway, how I found it to be easiest is to hold the penny upside down and tilt it so that the bottom of the penny faces away from you and the head it pointed toward you. Looking at it from this angle, you can easily see that the 7 is lower than the 0 and 9. I've taken a picture to help show this. When you view the picture larger, it looks a lot better and the difference in height is much easier to see. I hope this is a good thing that will help others. Also hope the picture comes out right. Thanks
