1970-S Lmc Floating Roof.

This is the second one I found 1970-S. I want 1970-D now. .

Nice find... Now those that don't know about the Floating Roof will be curious and want to start looking for them

 

Were these from a filled die or a worn die?

 

The mint polished off the low relief design. Sometimes because of a clash, or to remove a die crack, on an otherwise usable die.

One person said that this is also common for 1970 Lincoln memorial cents.

 

Speaking of "polish off", there's cold pizza in the fridge.

 

And later I will be polishing off the rest of the 12 pack from yesterday.

 

So close to floating! It was somewhat polished but if you look closely you can still see the ghost of the vertical lines.
