What do you guys think here? Hard to get a perfect picture here because coin is very shiny and getting a lot of reflection.
Closest I can find is: http://coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1970&die_id=1970s1mm001&die_state=mds But not an exact match IMO.
Is it possible to be a die stage of this one? 1970-S 1¢ WRPM-001 Description: S/S North Cross References: CONECA: RPM #1, Coppercoins: 1970S-1MM-001, Crawford: CRPM-001
Your coin doesn't have all the same parts of the "S". Especially missing the top of the curve on the right side...I don't know how to describe it. But no, I don't think yours is the same.
Was going back through my grandfather coins that he had put away in a bag. Figured I would go back through them now that I have a little more knowledge and know what to look for. So short answer is no.
It appears to me like MDD rather than a RPM. If you have a enlarged photo of the date, I would like to see it. Jim
Let me see what I got or I'll take one. If your looking for MD in date there isn't any. I checked for that myself.
For some reason the 68S-70S lincolns had quite a bit of this, and I have not taken the time to try and figure why the mm is like this. Here is one I happened to have .
Desertgem I have passed on several of those that are definitely flat and shelf like and add nothing to the coin. The ones I try to post a have very close similarities to ones I find on the well known error sites . I'm still going to say that my coin looks nothing like the one you posted here. I will try to post the similar ones I found on those sites so you can see what I'm comparing to. Thanks for all your responses they are very much appreciated !
What you are seeing is MD, and yes can only happen on one device. The second MM is flat and shelf like. The area at the top shows no separation lines.
