1970 S found cleaning out storage unit

    Two S mint mark finds this week! Coincidentally, both dated 1969. One one-cent Lincoln and one five-cent Jefferson! I think that was the first time I found a five-cent with an S mint mark.

    I have 1970 S pennies, i'm not an expert on conditions of coins but I think they look okay.

    A lot of pennies set in jars etc for years before being rolled or dumped into a machine. The fact there are so many can attest to the fact that we find them in AU and above so often, even though they are 50 years old or more.

    The first two are Au58 Red, the 3rd maybe a 53. They are all large date. ...the small date is the one to find...go to lincolncentresource.com to research the difference...that is, if you didn't already know...Spark

    Thank you for the link, I've tried to look at the difference small date and large date. Looks easy but when you look at your coins UGH! Never will master this date, but still save them when I see them. Thanks again

    Yeah i have saved about a hundred for my grandbabies to check when their older. I wouldn't dare to check them
