What does everyone think? DDo or NO? Mainly because of the LI in Liberty. And before everyone says strike doubling I see that as well.
http://doubleddie.com/452412.html I'd say maybe doubled. But check these images read the description as you look at the images so you know what you are looking at. They must look identical without doubt
I do believe it's the wddo-5. That is the only one I am seeing that's a match. Thanks for the help. Another question should I send this in to be graded? Or do you believe it well fetch a low grade and keep people away?
I'm pretty sure that could be a DDO, but based on the images of the date and mint mark it isn't WDDO-005. Unless you took the pic at an angle, the S is too far south and east. Sure looks like a class 2 spread toward the edge though. Wexler 005 cross references to Coneca DDO-010 and Coppercoins 1DO-012. Let me check for others similar. http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1970&die_id=1970s1do012&die_state=mds http://varietyvista.com/01b LC Doubled Dies Vol 2/1970SDDO010.htm
I am not sure if it will be worth the grade. Unless it was in absolute perfection, I'd say if it's a best of variety from wexlers, eventually it will selll its self without the grade. But when I get time I'll look further into it.
Yeah let's see a whole picture of the front and back. Try to get it like this, but just a little closer front and back
Sorry it took so long. I have been using a USB microscope and so on that not my pictures are not great. Here is some with my phone. But still not that great
Not sure if this would classify in the mint state 62-64 because of the scratches and dings. But if it's not that then I would say AU50. Not exactly sure the worth though but I'll help you out when I get home from work with that.
I'm confident it is it's ddo 12 On copper coin. Nice find. Is it worth grading? I'd say no. Although a very nice find, in what appears to be very nice condition. It's only a $10 coin. It's your coin do what you think is best. Personally I'd slap it in a 2×2. Label it accordingly and put it away.
The mint mark placement is definitely off for Wexler's 005. Other than that, I can't tell. Those images help to confirm the S placement though.
Well all I've got to say is thank you all for the help. And @jay4202472000 how do you over lay your photos like that??
Im not sure how he does it but you can easily do it in Adobe Photoshop. Just change the opacity in layer settings.
Cool discovery piece. Send it to Wexler have it attributed. Your name will go on the website. Then you can also have it graded as a discovery piece. That would definitely be worth slab fees!!!!!!
