There is some really goofy stuff getting posted. No such thing as a Micro-S on a 1970 S cent. There is no price guide anywhere that lists one. The coin in question had the die polished which thinned out the mint mark a little bit. Prior to 1990, mint marks were added to dies by hand and the positions and the depth of the punch can vary. In other words the coin up top is a normal cent worth 25 cents. Thanks, Bill
Just trying my loupe on the end of my camera, an happened to have an opened roll of 1970-S Lincolns in my drawer.
I've been away and would like to know if this info. was posted some where else. Has the info. been found yet? Or is there info. on it to be found. Just asking, sounded like you knew what you were talking about.
No it just has taken so long to refinish & update the house my wife inherited. we still have to do 2 bathrooms and pull up carpet then refinish the red oak flooring. then I get this house ready to sell.we are taken our time to make our last move right!
I used to live next to a bologna factory when I lived in PA. There is a similar aroma wafting from this thread LOL!
Please don't take offense. Your question is excellent ....One of the other folks leaving answers was highly inventive without the aid of facts, so i was just adding a little humor to the fact that we are awaiting his facts to back up his answers Again, there is nothing at all wrong with your question. Thanks, Bill
Ah, gotchya Bill, LoL. No offense taken. To tell the truth, I've been monitoring this thread for a while to know if I had something out of the norm. But, at the same time, I know how much of a hassle it can be to find info when in the middle of a move. But yeah, I would have found it hilarious had it not been about a post that I had started, LoL.
I think this bears repeating--I'd hate for anybody to look through rolls of 70-S for a non-existent "micro-S"--finding a small date is hard enough, hehe. :smile
I maybe wrong at Times but will always admit it I was wrong it 1974 that has 2type of S mint mark http://www.lincolncentresource.com/San_Fransisco_Mintmark_Styles.html Bill
