Hi all a friend of mine drop this quarter off to ask my opinion well I don't know if I'm qualified for that yet but I gave it a shot I know there's a lot of environmental damage. and I see a circle around Washington's bust that I learned it was a coin machine counter on this site hope I'm right I also see the o in 1970 is different could that be doubling? Also in God we trust looks like maybe some doubling there now on the reverse now on the reverse look at dollar. Doubling? Hope I'm right on some thing. Tnks
The bars and clubs would paint coins red and the bar tender would give them to customers to play the juke box. When the juke box was emptied the bar would get the red ones back.
Laundr-o-mats also used to put some red coins in when the change dispenser got low (it was the old mechanical one without a out-of-change light). The counter lady would see the flash of red and know she needed to reload. So basically, a little paint (or nail polish) gives you and indicator for whatever your need is.
Now we know where you spent your younger years. I'm surprised I didn't run into you back then. ~ Chris
Way back when people still used jukeboxes, I was living in London working as a cashier at a record store. I have no experience with late 60s America. I saw Cream live at some club. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life.
