All Philadelphia and Denver 1970 cent coins are large date. Here’s how to tell a large date S for sure. Draw a line across the bottom of the 970 and it will point down and away like the image. The bottom of 970 line up even always! The seven is also lower than the rest of the crowd!That’s my quick “Tell” everybody has their own once you get used to looking at enough it becomes natural. Good morning Kurt. You have to remember until Six months ago I was a closet collector. I did it for me in my spare time for 40 plus years.
