Hello everyone, I was doing some CRH and came across this Quarter. I know old coins loose some weight during the time. But this one here. Weighs 5.3 GRAMS. I know there were some that were from a dime stock back then. The edge is thinner then normal. I went to a coin star and put the coin in 3 times, and it was rejected all 3 times. So does this mean it might be one of those error coins. If so, is there any value to them? Here is the picture of the coin on a scale. Thank you all in advance.
Your quarter isn't a dime-stock error. For starters, the lettering and devices aren't weak along the rim. Moreover, the weight should be 4.2 grams. https://www.coinworld.com/news/precious-metals/1970-d-quarter-dollar-struck-on-dime-stock.html
