Hi! I’ve recently started looking at my coins and doing online research. I noticed that my 1970 D Quarter may have some doubling. I’m not sure if that’s an error or variation. I notice a slight difference mainly in the neck/lower neck. The face itself seems fairly thick compared to others, but I’m not sure if that just happens with ware. I also added a photo of my 1984 D Quarter to compare the neck. The 1984 Quarter also seems interesting since the D looks to be almost completely filled in and the letters are very thick and close together. I would love any advice/knowdlege!
Your pics is hard to see. Always post with a contrasting back ground and show the obverse and reverse. I really can’t see any doubling on the 70 d if there is its Machine Doubling But I can see that 84d is an off center struck. Not worth any thing. You 50 cent to spend!!
Thank you for the picture advice! I’ve been struggling with getting clear and vivid photos! I sent a picture to Heritage Auctions and they seemed unsure about the doubling? Great to have more eyes on it!
Download the app. Pcgs coin facts. And get you a copy of red book. And of course use a quick search on google. I’ve been collecting for about 6/7 year and I’m still a newbie!! These people on CT are willing to steer you though every coin there ever was... Welcome to CT Others will chime in....
Sorry both are pmd. Circulation damage to both. The best this going for them is a MAD Still not worth much...-
