Please report me if you have not already done so. Now I know; if I am blocked as a result, so be it. Ignorance of the rules is no excuse!
@Reid Morgan. You may be correct that the OP was replying to another member but he chose to reply to your post. If it was meant for another member IMO he should have replied directly to that member's post. Either way it's not that important. The OP revealed a lot about himself in post # 30, replying to @Pickin and Grinin. His post is a direct insult to @Pickin and Grinin who offered to help. The OP's statement in post # 30 "..and refuse to share my unique finds with this forum with the exception of some..." is an insult to many other members of Coin Talk. And what's with that childish rubbing it in with a photo of an expensive watch?
My opinion is that we need a reliable weight for the coin before we can proceed. The only number I have seen is 12.50 grams, which can be read from a reference book.
This guy needs to post a photo of it on a scale. They are cheap and would give more credibility to his very unlikely and contrived assertion. He will be yet another poster who never posts his results and will attack anyone challenging him. Just like this attention-seeking fool who insisted he found a non-silver war nickel...(one of my best Photoshop jobs ever!) https://www.cointalk.com/threads/1943-s-war-nickel.338638/
Wow, some fun. Very heated exchange. I have no horse in the race, but seems to me that a request for a photo on an appropriate scale is not an unusual request. I think everyone who views this forum would be excited it the claim is true. The suggestions/questioning is intended to save the individual time and money, not ridicule him. Boy, small wonder why political differences cause so much acrimony!!!
