Yes. It's a real coin. Worth 1 cent. What makes you think it's worth more? If you think this coin has any chance of being a 1969S DDO-001 (the valuable doubled die), please take a closer look at it. This is what an actual 1969S DDO-001 looks like. Yours isn't even close.
Yep. Real. Face value. (Still, if you're on the East coast like me, it's fun to find an S-mint coin in change.)
You're right. However, the fact that the op is asking if his/her cent is "for real" or "something" makes it likely that they are referring to the 69S doubled die. After all, the 69S DDO is one of the first coins that new collectors hear about and most are on a frenzy searching for one.
The OP has posted other threads asking about a Sacagawea Dollar, a 1955 Cent and now a 1969 Cent found in change. I have asked them if they live in another country because they only want to know if these coins have any value.. I have not received an answer yet to my question.
OK great.. The US or British Virgin Islands? And I only ask because I think the US Virgin Islands uses US Currency and I'm not to sure about the currency used in the British Virgin Islands.
