There seems to be 2 or 3 small D mint marks east of the last 9 in the date . Would something like this be considered a rpm or something else. Sorry for the picture quality. Thanks CT community i apperciate any info
It is hard to see what you are seeing, with the circles. From the look of the rest of the coin. I see circulation damage.
Thanks for taking a look guys. I notice most rpms are almost right on top of the original mintmark but can they be far off to where they are not touching or overlapping??
http://doubleddie.com/307764.html I am not sure how many are separated. This 87D has full separation. 1987-D 1¢ WRPM-014 Description: D and totally separated D far to the NNW. It is nearly horizontal and intersects the top left of the 9 Cross References: Crawford: CRPM-001 Comments: Photos courtesy of Billy G. Crawford This image from Billy G. Crawford shows a nearly horizontal D punched into the upper left 9 in the date. This overlay from Billy G. Crawford shows how the D mint mark for the 1989-D cents is a perfect match for the image punched into the upper left 9.
About as drunk as these, lol! http://varietyvista.com/02a LC RPMs Vol 1/1956DRPM008.htm http://varietyvista.com/02a LC RPMs Vol 1/1956DRPM016.htm http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1959&die_id=1959d1mm021&die_state=mds I don't have the 1956D-RPM-016, but I have the other 2. They are quite fascinating to study.
Drop the exclamation and you have my thoughts, exactly. Overlays are great, no doubt about, but just look closely at this so-called "perfect match"....
