1969D DDO or PMD?

Wondering if this coin has DDO or just post mint damage? Opinions appreciated since I am new to coin issues.
Also, the designers initials are missing, is this an error or commonality.

Not a DDO. An over polished Die removed the designers initials making it a variety. Welcome to CT.

 

Thanks! Do you think there is something going on with the mint mark and the word Liberty? IYO, what is the best reference for varieties?

The mintmark took a hit and flattered the lower portion. It's damaged.
