1969 S PROOF Penny

    Hello all, can anyone help me out here. I was looking at my PROOF SET, and noticed something under the (S)..to me it looks like a (D) mint mark. But there is definitely something under that (S). Here are a few pics. So you can see for yourself. Thanks in advance . I mean 1968 (S). Not 1969

    can we get a better close up?it might be a RPM impossible to tell from these pictures though.

    All these pics are not good to see the Mintmark . You need a darn Microscope my friend . I tried to enlarge and crop but failed because it was too blurry .

    Those are tiny chips in the creases of the S. And realize what an S/D is as opposed to an S/S. An S/D is a D die punched for a D mint that was over-punched with an S for an S mint. That's why those types are virtually unheard of.
