Quick question on the numbers . The 96 seem to have split tails and the last 9 has a relief in the middle . We just wondering is the a die issue. Or just a product of MD . We already knew its not a ddo . Seen this on other coins

 

"S" Mint Mark is from San Francisco. They make a lot of coins over there. Over here in the midwest I rarely see an S MM anything.

I think I see more S's when I buy Proof sets than I've had regular circulation S coins go through my hands over the years.
