Did you draw a line under the letters using the image of the 1969S doubled die as seen on the internet and have an explanation as to why the G, O and D can't be connected using a compass ( AT ALL ) as if they would if they were rotating on a circle. This is just an observation, but can it be denied? Look at my coin, or your coins, and trace a line under the letters all around. You can use a compass, the letter will match, doubled or not doubled. What is my point? None, except that the letters on the BIG ONE are not on a circle, FOR SURE.
Here's the basic problem, Wags. If you look carefully, on virtually NO Lincoln cents are the words "IN GOD WE TRUST" on a smooth arc. They're all pretty much segmented. The 1969-S important DDO has the look of the piece in posts #8 and #10. It can't be kinda like that, or close to that, it has to be THAT!!! This is not an "analog" analysis. There are no gradations; it's "binary". It is exactly like that one or it ain't the real deal. That's what makes it a doubled DIE, the doubling happened on the die and it struck beaucoup coins like that. So why is it rare then? Simple - they saw it and TRIED TO destroy all coins that had it. They missed a few - VERY few.
Lol I can tell you for certain that this is not how it works. I took geometry in highschool and you are very wrong when it comes to “drawing lines to see if its a doubled die”. Tbh if you’re not going to thoughtfully research and learn from others, you shouldn’t waste your time looking for error coins.
Sometimes when you ask. You have to be ready for the truth. Even if yourself is so sure. These members wouldn't lie to you even on their WORST day
Oh boy. You picked the wrong person to argue with. Your creds just went out the window. He's very knowledgeable
Waggers, I would suggest in your next few posts you clarify your position and then either send it for evaluation , or put it away and end this thread. You do not have the position of most of the others on the thread that have posted in many areas with many coins, rather just nonsensically with a single one that is obvious to all others that your coin is not such as the reference coin. Not trying to be heavy handed, but your behavior if not modified falls into that of a troll, and that is not allowed. Respectfully Jim
Mr Waggers don't be offended, these folks know coins. It is nice to be important.. BUT it is also important to be NICE. Al Wilson
