Hey all... Just imaged this gorgeous medal - wondering if anyone has seen it before and has some more info. I have found a silver proof and bronze proof example for sale ($25 and $15 respectively) and one with this finish on Worthpoint (don't have an account so don't know how much it sold for, I kinda feel like it's a scam site): Date: 1969 (50th Anniversary of Sept 10, 1919) Subject Matter: Return of American Expeditionary Force (Politico article) Packaging: Red case similar to the Worthpoint example with "International Numismatic Agency New York City" stamped on the inside cover Composition: Unknown (the Worthpoint listing says it's silver, but there is no fineness marking and they could just be describing the color) Mintage: Unknown Value: Unknown
On the link (Silver proof) you provided it states the medal is 27.9 grams of .999 fine silver. It's a Franklin Mint issue. Here's a nice article about the Franklin Mint: https://coinweek.com/education/the-rise-and-fall-of-the-franklin-mint/ I Googled Worthpoint and there's some interesting reading about them.
