1969 d penny No FG

This 1969 D penny seems not to have the FG signature. It's not in the best condition tho so any thoughts?

Maybe due to an over polished Die.. This would cause the Initials to disappear.
Also evidence is the Floating Roof..

I don't know if it's something one looks for (collects) but it sure is KOOL! Thanks paddyman98 for giving that artifact a name.

 

Don't feel bad, I didn't notice it either and I look at cents all of the time (though usually Wheat back Lincolns) . . . and I still think it's neat.

 

Known as the Floating Roof Variety found on Cents minted from the late 1960's to the early 1970's

 

Not sure if it has much value as a true numismatic item, but I'm sure some people on here will chime in.

 

Aren't there sites to sell these besides EBay?

 

Not an expert or a dealer, but the only other venues I can think of would be Craigslist or a coin shop.

 

I have a floating roof lincoln cent. Gee i thought i was the only one. I don't recall which year but ill have to check it for a no FG. Thanks paddyman.
