Came across this and noticed above Lincolns head. I don't see this being a die clash of any sort. Reminds me of DDR. on Nickels. Help apprciated.
Brian's varieties, there is several listing of DDR. The point I'm trying to get across. The cent that I posted resembles it a bit
I was just wondering if you possibly found a new year since you said you couldn't find this anywhere else?
I see what you are seeing in the statue bay. The last picture is way to over pixilated, but if you could crop the bay in question more tightly without distorting the image after resizing, you might want to shoot John Wexler an email and see what he has to say. He may be able to tell from the pic but also might need to see it in hand. You can contact him at jwex@comcast.net
The last pic looks good enough to send to Wexler. I'm not going to hazard a guess at this point. On a well struck coin a roof support should look well defined but not tilted like this so you may have something here.
What are we looking at ? IMHO. If it's so small you need a Microscope., then how is it going to appeal to a Buyer ? It won't . Your penny is worth 1 Cent .
The top roof support in the statue bay. It's interesting if it could possibly be an unlisted doubled die.
It's an interesting anomaly but I'll hazard a guess that it's a gouge of some kind. It may be part of an unremoved clash, but I don't see other objective evidence of that. Here is an overlay if interested - Clash-LC-1960b.jpg (800×408) (maddieclashes.com)
