1969 D dime possible error

    1969 d dime it has alot of metal movement around the rim on the obverse....and showing a copper colored rim on obverse and normal on the reverse it looks like 2 rims trying to separate is this a mint error or pmd 20210217_234333.jpg 20210217_234315.jpg 20210217_234315.jpg 20210217_234223.jpg

    The Obverse is unquestionably damaged and ubiquitous in this state . I see rim damage combined with a nice MAD error.

    So it does have a mad error is it a coin that worth putting up for my collection

    MAD aka :banghead: . It's not a real error per se . NAV = No added value . :(

    A misaligned die error is caused when the hammer die (which punches a planchet from above) is not properly aligned with the striking area on the anvil die (which is stationary and impresses a planchet from below).
