1968 Plain Jefferson Nickel?

@john65999. Just curious. Who are you asking to post a picture. The post claiming to have a 65 D nickel is a few years old. (Almost 3 years). The one claiming to have a no mint mark 68 nickel posted photos that showed a faint S mint mark. (Post #25).

 

Maybe both. Thinking dumb

On page 2 you'll see the post re the 1965 D nickel is dated Sept. 7, 2017.

 

Are you sure it didn't say July 29th 2020?

The thread was started back in 2017. It died after 44 posts in Sept 2017.

It was brought back to life in April 13, 2018 and died again on post 55 on April 15, 2018.

It was brought back to life again on July 28, 2020 and the last post before yours was #60 on July 29th 2020. The date of that last post was what you probably saw on your new posts list.

 

so why is this showing up now in a current post fopr 16 new posts from coin talk delivered to my inbox then, never mind, everyone is a hater on here anyways, lol

 

I thought @Conder101 did a nice job answering your question in the previous post. What part didn't you understand?

It showed up because there is current activity on it. I got into the habit of checking the 1) forum category, then the 2) original date of the post and then 3) the poster, if not well known. I've saved myself a lot of time and embarrassment that way.
It can be educational to read old posts but posting to them is usually a waste of my time.

 

There is a listing for Philadalephia Mint, it's listed as the year without a mint mark after it. It's the way the Red Book lists all Philadelphia minted coins that are not supposed to have a mint mark.

 

I don't understand why you think someone who replies to your question with an accurate, logical answer, would hate you

 

maybe it was a proof or mint set coin with no mint mark

 

Any pictures handy. What’s the story on 69 no mint mark nickels. Are they out there?

 

I still need a 44S war nickel to finish a set

 

And I do roll search nickels. But never find war nickels

 

I must admit that when I started kinda collecting. I bought 5 nickel rolls from the bank. And found a 50D. Took me 3 years to find the next one
