1968 minting error (updated)

    This penny might have PMD (post minting damage) is it worth anything?

    looks to me like it's just scraped up. So yes, this would be PMD. As to value, it appears to be worth about 1 cent. :)

    Copper is a very soft metal and PMD can have some dramatic affects on the devices.... Yeah, you can pretty much chalk that one up to having a rough life.

    PMD simply means that something happened to the coin after the minting process was complete. It usually detracts from the value not adds to it.

    It's also helpful to post a picture of the whole coin as well. But I would agree, this one was used and abused.
