I believe I posted this but did not know how to share a picture, Now I do. This 1968 was pulled from a roll of halves while CRH this year. This was difficult to authenticate and I finely got it done. This is a 1968 Kennedy Half Dollar with a major lamination error retained on the coin. Please review the pictures and let me know what you all think.
@Arby If it were mine, I would definitely submit it, primarily, to protect it. A 2x2 won't do any good. Neither will a Saflip or even an AirTite. You've probably got a coin that is worth maybe ten times the cost of the submission. What say you @Fred Weinberg ? Chris

Can I have your permission to use your third side view of your lamination error for my power point presentation I do yearly for the coin club I belong to? It's probably the most outstanding example I've seen of a lamination error.
I agree it shouldn't go in a slab. It is peeled back about 60%. I wouldn't want to cause to much stress to it.
Absolutely, use away. How active is your Club, do you trade and sell to each other. Or mostly for sharing and fun.

I just read an email I received from PCGS about grading laminations, and they informed me that my lamination is called a Clamshell Lamination, it goes on to state its among one of the most impressive types of lamiations. They will grade this type of lamination. That is really cool. Have a great long weekend everyone.

I was about ready to point out that this is indeed a clamshell lamination. Coins of this ilk sell in the hundreds. Given that this is a 40% example puts it up into the upper echelon of pricing. Cents and dimes are the more common clamshells to find.
