Well, i stumbled across a great coin book today and I searched through loose change and found a 1967 quarter that was unusually shiny. I searched in the web and found out that most silver testing tests required acid or a very precise scale. I did not have any of them, so I went with the two cheapest and easiest tests possible: the tissue test and the rim test. The tissue test failed miserably because: 1.I didn't have any silver coins so I didn't know how it was supposed to look, and 2.Under the lamp, the coins glittered and both of them looked the same. The rim test turned out to be very interesting, because almost 30% of the rim was SILVER!!! (yes, I know that about half of the rim is silver and the rest is brown. But, the 1/3 of the coin was just silver. No brown. Is it silver? because I have heard of a real 1967 silver quarter being found! So... should I cash it in? or should I just throw it in the nearest vending machine?
