1967 quarter dollar ?

i found this 1967 quarter with no ridges and its wider and no face at first i thought it was that someone shaved it down or something but when i put it on the scale it wiegh the same as my other 1967 quarter any input would be appreciated

It was spooned. They hit it continuously to wear down the reeded edge

Probably a file or an Emory board. You can also see the ring from a coin rolling machine.

 

Spooning is just on the edge of a coin. It raises the collar and makes the coin appear smaller than a normal sized coin of the same denomination.

 

"Tapped" on the edges.

Damaged there, and on the obverse, at least.

 

99.9% or more of the coins that ppl think are mint errors are damaged.

People do everything to coins. Don't limit your thinking becz you don't have a reason why someone would do anything because someone else did have a reason.
