Hey all! In the perusal of all my friends random change jars I pulled out a 1967 nickel that I have to say struck me immediately as. . pretty. On closer look I immediately noticed the obverse seemed incredibly deep - fairly more so than I ever remember seeing(I haven't been collecting long). The rim is fairly thin almost to the point of being sharp around 12:30. The rim is also a bit taller than one would expect, but no higher than the face. It also seems to have retained a surprising amount of original finish for a circulated coin of its age. A finish like a new nickel, but with the depth of the image, it just seems very solid somehow. Anyway, could this by a multiple strike in the same place, or a "transition" piece that was struck too hard? I'll have pictures tonight, so if you just want to wait to comment that's fine. As I said I'm new to numismatics so any and all comments appreciated!
