1966 Quarter, error or nothing?

Hi there I'm new here but I was wondering if my quarter was worth anything at all as it seems to have an error - a P or a D to the left of the date 1966. I recognise that it might not be anything though, and also apologies if this is posted in the wrong thread. A picture with a normal 1966 quarter is included for comparison. Thanks for any help/info.

The Error Coins forum would of been better. You are forgiven.
Looks like damage so not an error issue. Worth? 25 Cents

Howdy Bob, that quarter has seen some better days. I do agree that that mark looks closely to a P MM. But it is only damage. The P MM wasn't added to the obverse until 1980.

No mint marks on US coins in 1965, 1966 and 1967.
None have ever been found to have one.

PMD, it took a hit and pareidolia kicked in. Welcome BTW.
