1966 Gold World Coin Identity?? Help!

    It registers as the same gold content as an American Gold Eagle. Not sure what it is? Thanks for any assistance!

    That' a coin from turkey.....with the head of Kemal Atatürk on it....worth gold content +2.5%

    Kemal Ataturk AV 500 Piastres (Deluxe Issue)

    Ottoman Sultan Abdul Medjid started a "currency reform" in 1844. With reform the mint in Islambul began striking AV 12 1/2 25 50 100 250 500 Piastres coinage in standard and deluxe. By 1922 the now Republic continued this policy. The Deluxe ones are highly prized and beautifull. Some have ext. low mintages.
