clad is an alloy made of copper and nickel. It is what the modern coinage is made of. An outer layer of 75% copper and 25% nickel bonded to an inner core of pure copper. That's why if you look at the edge reeding it kind of looks like a sandwich with the nickel colored layers surrounding the copper core.
Weigh it on a good scale. If it is 2.27 grams, then it's copper-nickel. If it's 2.5 grams [and really 1965], then you're rich!

Jeweller - visit any privately owned store and ask them to weigh it for you. I don't know if the chain stores are likely to have a scale?
