1965 full step nickel ? Opinions on grade

I’m running into the same situation. I just got graded a 1964 d, that came back NGC ms66*. The steps look EXACTLY the same as your third photo. Going to PCGS next.

Do I basically just have to keep submitting until I finally get the FS?

You can try that AJC, but you could be wasting your money. There must be 5 complete steps. Maybe post a few photos of your coin in a new thread, or here if you want some help.

 

I think it misses the FS description. Here’s one of my War Nickels that is graded by PCGS as a MS-65 with the FS designation. You can use it for comparing to yours. I think yours is close and you might get a FS from a TPG but the 2nd and 3rd steps are touching. That alone disqualifies it from FS.

 

You can try but the cost of submitting and resubmitting is cost prohibitive in my option.
