    I bought my el-cheapo digital scale off amazon for ~$12 and a loupe for ~$5. Neither have failed me yet. I don't have a caliper nor could I see the need for one, at least with normal circulated coinage. It would have its uses in other aspects of collecting though. Depends on what you are trying to achieve.

    Weight is always the best way to tell as some clads do not always show the copper sufficiently.

    You can get inexpensive calipers at Harbor Freight. They are good enough for measuring coin dimensions

    I went to eBay and searched. I paid $39 a while back and got everything but the caliper, which I bought for $3.52. Do a Google or Bing search and you'll find many of them for sale.
