So I cracked open an unopened roll of 64 Kennedy Halves. Every one has some sort of chip or crack through the clouds between the stars, some are only ¼" long, some run through the entire area of clouds. Anything special here? IMG_3081.jpg IMG_3082.jpg

All I see is a normal reverse for a ken half

It looks like a die crack. And, if they all have it they may be from the same die. You should look and see if there is any obvious progression.

So far 14/15 from one roll, haven't finished yet. And definite progression, some are all through the clouds, some only a couple, and some through the rays.

If this was a mint roll they may be from the same die. I found a mint roll of Jefferson's all with the same die chip. You could see the progression. Nice find.

Thanks- the first roll had 18/20 with it. The second roll so far is starting to show more severe die crack at the bottom and traces of one forming above it still in the clouds. IMG_3085.jpg IMG_3086.jpg

If you look close at your first one you can see the crack at the top.

No such thing as a "Mint Roll", but they were probably rolled from the same Mint Bag.

Roll was from the Pittsburgh branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland.

    It's a die crack.
