1964 nickel grading and 1939 maybe error

    The 1939 is an altered surface. It was put in a vise. Damaged. Not a mint error of any kind.

    The 1964 has circulation wear. No steps shown on the Monticello building.

    The other Nickels are normal.

    Your 1964 is in decent shape for a circulation find. But, keep in mind that a billion of them were made between 1964-1967 and many uncirculated specimens turn up in change today. As for your 1939, there are a few varieties to keep an eye open for. This is a damaged coin so any numismatic value is compromised. Additionally, it's possible to find VF/AU specimens in circulation today, with some patience and some coin roll hunting (CRH).
