There reproductions you see those dan carr examples all the time but at least there silver got to give them some credit.Note I'm not saying this as an insult.
I've heard of Dan Carr making 1964 Peace Dollars... not 1964 Morgan Dollars... New info to me I guess
I don't do the fantasy issues. They are pretty cool but I wouldn't buy. Only 'fake' I'd want is the 2002 FSNC Original Jefferson design. I have been looking for some time (its my birthyear and a great design!) some of the Russian empire fantasy issues are cool.
The hubs are used to make the dies. I'm not knowledgeable enough about the process to explain further, maybe someone can help out?
@DarkRage666 @potty dollar 1878 This advice has been given to you both a number of times. Please, educate yourselves. The link is to Wexlers, click on How dies are made. It details all the stages involved. Knowledge is important in this and other facets of numismatics as well as life in general. With more of an understanding of the process you can contribute more fully to members questions. This is not meant as criticism so take it in the way it is meant which is advice
?I'm fine I was just helping dark which advice are you taking about?I do use it and listen dark needs to catch up.
Tbh I never really knew the minting process since yesterday... And I've been collecting for 3 years... You're right... I really do need to catch up
whats more important studying the mint process for years or studying math problems that require 20-30 steps each.
They are equally important depending on where the knowledge and understanding is to be of use. For example, being able to fathom various math problems is not much use to someone posting about a possible error or variety coin. Understanding the minting process is not going to be much use to an accountant
There was nothing in the video that said anything about Dan Carr. What you saw on the reverse Hub was Carb ll the type of die steel and Red 64 for reduction 64. These hubs were made from the galvanos which is a 12 to 15 inch redering of the coin itself. Then put on a reduction lathe to become a Hub.
I didn't say dan carr was in the video I was just talking about how the morgans were silver reproductions for example dan carr.
