Found a 1964 Lincoln penny very well struck Brown but looked at the red ones they're eight grand on PCGS anybody know anything about an SMS Brown 1964 Philadelphia or no mint mark SMS
What makes you think it is a SMS 1964? All 65, 66, and 67 SMS sets did not have a mint mark. They were minted in Philadelphia.
Thank you @Kentucky for Posting the HA auction. I like reading their description of coins. In the whole 5 coin series, the largest number of graded examples is 18 by PCGS. I don't believe that Their were any graded by NGC, at least not in their description. I thought it was pretty neat that each coin HA gave a little more insite to the validity and individual character that they had. @Willysilver I think your an OK Cat, way to stay positive. Anyways below are some of the most recent HA auctions for SMS coins. https://coins.ha.com/itm/sms-roosevelt-dimes/1964-10c-sms-ms68-pcgs/a/1147-3504.s https://coins.ha.com/itm/sms-washington-quarters/1964-25c-sms-ms67-pcgs/a/1136-2693.s https://coins.ha.com/itm/sms-jefferson-nickels/1964-5c-sms-ms68-full-steps-pcgs/a/1236-4360.s https://coins.ha.com/itm/sms-kennedy-half-dollars/1964-50c-sms-ms68-pcgs/a/1124-2929.s
Thanks bud i will look at all ur links thanks i do have a real nice 1966 sms i think no mint mark half cant see any copper it weighs 11.94 weird
I'll get it out and post a pic if you could help me thanks I just don't do halfs it's just real clean and shiny but there's no deep cameo like appearance so I don't have a clue and it looks off center cuz if you feel the rim it's real sharp at the bottom by the nine and real flat at the top by the T
There were both regular and SMS issues from 1965-67. ALL the coins from those years were plain. There were no D or S mint marks.
