I remember awhile back someone posted their Irradiated Mercury Dime, at the time I thought I had one. Well I was wrong, I found it and mines is a Roosevelt Dime. Just sharing that's all. These were given away or sold at the 1964 World's Fair in NY. Yeah, remember the World's Fairs that used to draw large amounts of people? I wish I would have attended one but I never did. I guess the last one held in the US was 30 years ago, time flies! Please if you ever went to a World's Fair, please feel free to share your experience, or your dime if you have one.
I love these! I have been trying to find one since I found out about them. I haven't been able to find one yet.
Plenty of them on eBay https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fr...irradiated.TRS0&_nkw=irradiated+dime&_sacat=0
I attended the World's Fair in 1965. It was our Senior Class Trip. I regret that I never made it to the exhibit where these irradiated dimes were being distributed, but I was able to make it to just about every Brass Rail refreshment stand where you could purchase a 16oz. beer for 25c. ~ Chris
I was at the NY World's Fair but don't have any souvenirs. All I remember is the "Small World" ride, the big globe (the Unisphere), and the new Ford Mustang. Didn't drink any beer, I was around 7 years old at the time.
sort of went there in 65 (me mum was pregnant with me, lol) do have some souvenirs, put away in some box or other..
