I found this 1963 penny, it seems to have some type metal embedded in it?
    what say you?

Well, for a brief period of time it did have the metal of shears embedded in it… but the cutters are gone now leaving a badly damaged coin.

edit to add: Might have been a chisel, I didn’t look to see how the marks lined up on both sides of the coin.

Metal shears or chisel. It doesn't matter. Post Mint Damage. ;)

    Just a damaged cent.

I agree. Looks to have been cut or struck with a sharp tool or object.

    DEFDAM - Definitely Damaged

Altered with metal snips. Not a mint error of any kind.

I'm not seeing anything that indicates something is embedded other than dirt/grime in the areas that are damaged. I have a 1918 cent with a couple of similar marks. I always wonder how/why they acquire marks like this. People get bored I guess

Edit to add - I looked again, looks like something like diagonal cutters were used, seems like the marks line up on the obverse and reverse
