1963 penny

    I found this penny coin roll hunting.
    It has a really bright finish, or I should say a lot brighter than a majority that I see. Any reasoning for this? Please see the attached photos.

    either been polished or has been kept in good condition until released into circulation. i find some cents like that but they are all from the 60's

    Those early 60s cents had a real nice shine. Nice to save but it’s circulated.

    Upon a brief but closer inspection you'll see that it's been harshly cleaned.
    Look at all the scratches. scratches/wear on high areas and not the subsequent lower areas.

    Many ppl clean coins to make them shiny. They look better that way. Its circulated coinage that can get dirty from a variety of methods and means. Even people with dirty fingers transfer dirt and stuff to coins.
