AU58+ Red Brown. edit to add: There appears to be wear on the ear, cheek, jaw and lapel next to the bowtie. Maybe a close-up would show better, but this pic is slightly out of focus.
Assuming that the piece has a typical weak strike for the date, MS64* BN. The fields are clean in those images, could we please get more images before the reveal?
My gut feeling is that it would come back as an AU Details (old cleaning and re-toned from being in an album. I really can appreciate the color (aka I like it and if I saw it in an album in a shop I'd try to buy it) but I just have a feeling it's gonna get a details grade based on others I've seen. Fingers crossed for you that you got a straight MS grade with a star, though!
It’s being TV’d now. With the wait times at PCGS I don’t expect the images to populate for at least 2 weeks. If I’m lucky, maybe less. I’ll post the TV’s then the grade too. I’ll do another GTG for a 59P I sent in too at that time. Similar colors as well.
I have to agree with @Spark1951 on this one! I definitely see some wear on the jaw, cheek, lapel and ear! It also looks like a gouge on the cheek! Still a nice-looking cent but I'm in the AU range!
