1962 Tarnished P Mint set

    Hello Everyone! I bought this 5 coin set ,in clear packing, and it is not properly sealed or the seals have broken. My question is, is the silver tarnished because that what silver does from the broken seal or something else? The quarter and d S20170522_0004.jpg ime are the same. Even the penny looks odd. Thank you

    I would speculate that the packaging you coins are in must have some tiny
    holes in it. As the temperature changes the package will "breathe" contract and expand. With the contract cycle it will bring contaminated air into it, which will bring in gasses from surounding things like paper.

    Would it be worth wild to remove them from the packing and treat them as individual coins?

    That's what I do with cello packs like that, I've got a bunch of proof sets that happened to also.
