Going through my hoard and came across this 5c BU which came out if 1992 marked box in my closet. I must have OCD...lol Anyway interesting rotated die strike I wanted to share. The last two pics Ilined up the edge of holder on table to show it better I hope?...lol
Now this kind of freaked me out. I ended up having two 1962 BU 5c and I had to put both in new holders to show the rotation. Now I have a set of slightly rotated die strikes...lol
Wow, I just looked at the edges and they are proof coins. I can't remember where in 1992 I acquired them but they were in cardboard holders marked BU. I just changed them out to put markers on them. Does that change anything?

Change anything? Not really. It looks "prooflike" because the surface looks mirrored. Look at the letters, are they very thin and crisp? If not, it's a "prooflike" business strike, probably just from fresh dies. On a proof, the steps under Monticello will be pretty well-defined, so you might look there, too.
