Would like info on this nickel. Do you think someone started spooning it or could it be damage or errors?
I realize it's in rough shape. If you think it was spooned how would the rev. edges be so flattened? Picture 038.jpg Picture 029.jpg Picture 030.jpg Picture 031.jpg Picture 032.jpg Picture 033.jpg Picture 034.jpg Picture 035.jpg Picture 037.jpg

Going thru some coins found what appears to be a 1961 nickel with outer band of it crimped to much! Have any ideal?

    Yes.. Maybe a Dryer Coin
A Nickel that was caught between the drum and the wall of an industrial clothes dryer. Tumbles around for a long time crimping the rim.

First, welcome to CT. You need to create a thread of your own with clear in-focus images. Both sides and close-ups of any significant areas.
But, be prepared to be dissapointed as those you-tube videos are just click bait

It isn't. I don't believe there are any 1961 nickels worth close to that amount. A full step MS-70 might bring that, but considering at the moment there AREN'T any MS-70 full step nickels.....
