Double Die I know just enough to be dangerous

This was a very productive roll. Along with the 5 previously posted with a consensus die gouge, there are these three with the DDO. While it's not a biggie, I credit my noticing it to what I've learned here at CT and how to research my findings and how to compare markers to narrow down a specific variety.

I know not all of you bother with these types of errors, but for those who do you'll appreciate the share. @Rick Stachowski what do you think?

I'm only posting one of the coins, but all of them look exactly the same.

I am choosing to be a sceptic here. I see the reference just wondering if there is any other evidence of doubling on the coin. It looks like nothing more than a die gouge.

Machine Doubling on the "WE" ?

For this variety, there were no markers listed for either side. So I guess on each person's perspective, it might be or it probably isn't. I choose the first option.

Not part of the equation, it's after the fact.

I can handle that answer. As long as a person keeps an open mind. Not every experts opinion is the correct answer. Nothing against Wexler, there just aren't enough notes in the description for me to agree with him.

The striations of the right side of the gouge would indicate to me that it is PMD and the left side is the material being pushed up as the result of a side ways strike. IMMO (In My Machinist Opinion)

Just making a statement. Did not know I could only reply to the equation. Have a nice day... :)

The middle line of the E kills it for me. IMO. (WE)

Are you speaking of the raised line next to the T? last t in trusT.
If so this is a die gouge or what Wexler says is a partial definition of the top bar or a T. The gouge above T in liberty is damage.

Silly me. I thought we were talking about the gouge to the left of Lincoln's head.
